This whirlwind I call life....

November was a CRAZY month for us! Just so busy. Lots going on with school and Holiday Feasts, and work with my General Tommy Franks banquet and then hosting a Thanksgiving for some our our other Police family, and then for my Real Family. I loved every last minute of the entertaining and planning. But this week we had two more events. This is the first one. Ally's class was one of the 40 or so in the state chosen to decorate a tree at the State Capitol. She was so excited. So I picked her up and we headed out. She'd never been there so I'm trying to explain what the capitol is....to a 6 year old! But she LOVED the Indian on top. The Guardian. That was very impressive to her. And then being in the bottom and looking up through the Rotunda....that was very cool to them all. So we of course were the first too arrive, so we waited for everyone else, and for the teachers to bring their ornaments that they had made in class. Very cute little snowmen out of clay pots. All the kids jockeyed for position to see who's ornamen would be front and center. They all moved their ornaments a minumum of 3 times. (I personally think the teacher could have done a better job organzing this part....but that's just me.) So we finally find the PERFECT spot. We went upstairs to watch some flamenco dancers who were terrible. I was embarrassed for them!. But we did get to see the replica of The Guardian statue and were able to get a picture with that. And then we spotted Santa and the Governor. I'm still trying to figure out which one was the fictional character. But he began to make his rounds to all the trees. So of course we had to RUSH back down to our tree - nevermind that he had 2 floors of trees to get to before ours! So we went down and waited. They colored Christmas cards for the troops while we waited. Again, the teachers could have been more prepared and had the kids lined up better. I took over as much as they would allow and started rearranging people but then it was too late. Santa and Gov. Henry had arrived. So we got a decent picture of the group. But the teacher never did line them up so the parents could get a good class shot - even after I suggessed it. Oh well. Then we had to rush out right then to be able to get to the tumbling meet, which was our next big event! Pictures on that to follow tomorrow.

Halloween 2009

Here are Snow White and Tinkerbell!! They had so much fun dressing up and playing around the house. We met up with the whole crew later for some fun around the neighborhood. They all had fun, but the most fun was back at the house playing in the yard with the "crazy" neighbor dressed up as Freddie chasing kids with a chainsaw. They thought that was GREAT!!! While the kids played, the adults watched football and snacked. Then had some champagne to toast Tom on this 1 year aniversary!!!
WE had Snow White, Timkerbell, Annie, A ninja, Army Man, and our horse Savannah was ready to participate for the group picture....but by the 4th house.....she was ready to go! So Ashlee walked the pony the rest of the way! It was a fun evening.
Had some professional pics of the girls done as well that I should get today, I can't wait.

A Funny!!!

Ashlee informed me she had giant corn for lunch and she doesn’t like it. Confused I asked what giant corn was, afraid they had served her hominy! Nope, corn on the cob. So I asked her why she didn't eat it since she likes corn, and her reply...." I only like un-stuck corn!" In her defense…. I don’t think she’s ever seen corn on the cob before! We don’t eat corn on the cob at our house, because I can’t stand to hear people eat it. GROSS….. I like it and all but have you ever just looked around the table when you serve corn on the cob? Like a bunch of animals. And don’t get me started on the people walking around the fair gnawing on an ear of corn over a foot long!!! Disgusting.

Hook Em Horns!!

Thanks to cousin Stephanie....my girls were perfectly outfitted for "gloat" day today at school!! I can't wait to hear what Ally's teacher says...since she's apparantly a HUGE OU fan and had an OU Christmas tree with autographed ornaments for the silent auction last week. Ally said can you send this picture to Ms. Scott? I said well she'll see your shirt, you just show her what we do with our hands! HAHA
I did tell her however that if people were mean to her she could put it in her backpack and just wear the other shirt! Sometimes kids are so mean and I don't want her to have a bad day!! But I told her to first tell them that "her mama said to be NICE!! and we all like different things and it's ok" But I don't think she'll remember that part!
Ally was very worried that no one would see the 1 on her back.
She was so excited and so funny this morning. She said Texas is Number 1. Oklahoma must be so sad they are number 2! I said they are alot lower then number 2 honey.....ALOT lower!
Hook Em Horns!!!! Happy Gloat day!

My early birthday present

So Al suprised me last night with an early birthday present. Said he saw no need for me to wait a month and a half. Now there is a little history behind this.....
In Kansas City in July we ate a Jackstack Barbeque. We had a private room for our event that just had one bathroom that men and women shared. Al had gone in and said you have to go in the bathroom. They have a giant rooster in there you will love. So I go in and of course LOVED it. One of the ladies at our table tried to buy it from them, but they wouldn't sell it because the tail was chipped.
So this is what I found when I walked in last night. I have absolutely NO idea where I'm gonna put it yet....but I absolutely love it!

It's FALL.....Pumpkin Patch Time

My girls LOVE to go to the pumpkin patch. They just run and play and have great fun. I made them wait this time though, until Nana got here so we could ALL go together. So Al and John met us out there so all the kids could play. It's just a small one at the Ashlee's school so we just played a bit, the girls picked baby pumpkins and we went home and cooked burgers and hotdogs, watched the football game and the kids played until late!!!! The kids were exhausted. But we had a GREAT night. The weather changed so it really even felt like Fall!

Thomas the Train

We had a girls trip this weekend to ride Thomas the Train. What a great morning. We got to make pasta necklaces, tattoos, pictures with Thomas and Sir Tophamhat, jumping in the moon bounce, story time....it was endless fun! All the girls had great fun. It's a short train ride through a "not so attractive" part of OKC but it was fun. Now we are looking forward to the Polar Express train ride in December.

Birthday Party Weekend

We had a super fun birthday party weekend. The girls chose to go to the skating rink for the party. We had the whole place to ourselves and TONS of fun. Lots of kids skating and running, having a good time. The highlight though was Nana deciding to skate with us. She did alright until it was time for the hokey pokey!!! That was her downfall. (pun intended) Unfortunately, the only picture that turned out is the one with John escorting her off the rink after having to pull her off the ground.
But the girls had a great time, got WAY too many gifts, and ate too much cake and cookies for the day! And the DS and Leapster are still currently in use!!!
Everyone had a lot of fun and is ready to go skating again very soon. Except Nana, that is!
Now, to clean out the house to make room for all the new My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop toys....that all have a million pieces. Just an excuse to buy more rubbermaid containers. Everything has a home!!

Ally's a 1st Grader

I officially have a 1st Grader. She was so excited we were at the school about 40 minutes early today!! She's very excited to have Ms. Scott for her teacher. Apparently she's "fun". She just couldn't wait to get her new pink shoes and her dress on today. She's been dying to wear the shoes since we got them. She finally insisted that she needed to wear them the other night just around the house to make sure they fit. So here's her first day at school...

First day of School for Ashlee

Well, she actually had her first day in her new class last week, but today was the hoopla!!! My poor kid. She's been going to this school for 2 years now.....and still cries when I drop her off. They say she stops as soon as I'm out of eye sight and not to worry. She got better at the end of last year and the summer was easy becuase Ally was there. Now's she's back on her own!!! So hopefully.....the crying will stop. Here's a couple pictures from this morning. She's moved to the Buckaroo room with Ms. Norman. ( we LOVE Ms. Norman) You can see she's acting all silly and having a good time until it comes time for me to go!
